A 30-minute City is a smart city concept in which no matter where citizens live, they can easily access (within 30 minutes) the places they need to visit on a daily basis.
This is the simple concept that most of peoples day to day work, educational, shopping or recreational activities should be located within 30 minutes walking, cycling or public commuting from their homes.
The consideration of the 30 minute City concept was promoted by some policy thinkers in this area including the Bus Industry Confederation earlier in 2014.
The 30 minute time frame is somewhat arbitrary, and some thinkers in the area prefer the 20-minute City concept.
