Asset Management Framework
An asset management framework is the way in which asset management is approached within an organisation.
Section 2 of the International Infrastructure Management Manual is titled "Asset Management Framework and Implementation". It does not explicitly define the term "Asset Management Framework", but Section 2.2.2 notes that an Asset Management Framework should include specific objectives related to:
- AM Structure, roles and responsibilities
- Continuous review and improvement of AM processes
- Statutory compliance
- Delivery of services to the standard agreed with stakeholders
- Stakeholder consultation
- Preparation of AM Plans
- Implementation of improvement plans for AM systems, data and processes
Subsections within Section 2 of the Manual are titled:
- 2.1 Introduction
- 2.2 Aligning with Corporate Asset Management Direction
- 2.3 The Asset Management Team
- 2.4 Planning for Asset Management Improvement
- 2.5 Preparing and Revising the Asset Management Plan
- 2.6 Implementing the Asset Management Plan
The Local Government and Planning Ministers' Council has published an "Asset Planning & Management Framework".
