Road Asset Management Services Contracts: QLD South Coast maintenance works

In October 2013, the QLD TMR department announced new 5-year contracts for road asset management for south east Queensland. Ventia Boral Amey Joint Venture was awarded the contract for the routine and programmed maintenance services for the department’s south coast region.

The south coast region encompasses the local council areas of the City of Gold Coast, Logan City and Scenic Rim.

It is expected that these new Road Asset Management Contracts will:

  • stimulate the local road construction industry by creating local jobs
  • achieve a range of tangible savings through the use of innovation and new products and treatments
  • provide a safer road network designed to meet current traffic demands and cater to future needs.
  • Funding:
  • Under these new Road Asset Management Contracts it is estimated that about $400 million of roadworks will be delivered throughout south east Queensland.

The following types of maintenance activities are covered under the Road Asset Management Contracts:

  • Road resurfacing, asphalt overlays and minor works
  • Bitumen reseals
  • Roadside signage and furniture maintenance
  • Pothole and road pavements repairs
  • Vegetation management
  • Minor drainage and culvert maintenance
  • Incident management including after hours and emergency call outs
  • Flood damage initial response works
  • Graffiti control
  • Litter contro
