Australian Local Government Women's Association
The Australian Local Government Women's Association (ALGWA) is an organisation devoted to:-
- Assisting the furthering of women's knowledge and understanding of the functions of Local Government
- Encouraging women to participate in Local Government
- Encouraging women to make a career from Local Government
- Protecting the interests and rights of women in Local Government
- Taking action in relation to any subject or activity affecting Local Government and Local Government legislation
- Acting in an advisory capacity to intending women candidates for Local Government elections
