Bridge Deck
The deck of a bridge is the surface of the bridge on which vehicles or pedestrians travel.
The deck is typically constructed from concrete, timber or open steel grating, but may be covered with asphalt or another pavement or wearing surface. A reinforced concrete deck may be an integral part of the bridge structure (T-beam structure) or it may be supported with I-beams or steel girders (floor beams).
