Collective Asset

A collective asset is a collection of many individual items, each of which is individually below any reasonable capitalisation threshold.

Examples of collective assets include;

  • road guideposts & signs
  • library books
  • garbage bins.

The Australian Infrastructure Financial Management Guidelines refer to collective assets (arguably incorrectly) as network assets.
