Consequences of Asset Failure
The consequences of asset failure are dependent on the asset type in question.
Water Pipe Failure Consquences
Pipe failure consquences can be classified into three categories2:
1. Direct Cost
- repair
- damage to nearby infrastructure
- water lost
2. Indirect Cost
- supply interruption to business
- reduced fire fighting capacity due to decreased hydraulic capacity
3. Social Cost
