Creative Commons ShareAlike License

"ShareAlike" is one of four standard license conditions used by Creative Commons in its six main licence models. It allows others to distribute derivative works only under a license identical to the license that governs your work.

On October 8, 2010, Ann Stewart, the Australian Government CIO, announced that the Australian Attorney-General's Department had released an amended Statement of Intellectual Property Principles for Australian Government Agencies. One of the main changes is that the default copyright position for public sector information is now Creative Commons by Attribution (CC BY).
