Disposal Plan

A Disposal Plan is a document that defines how an organisation decides when an asset should be retired or disposed of, and the activities associated with the process, including sale, demolition or relocation. Disposal Plans are often a section within an Asset Management Plan.

The Queensland Department of Local Government, Sport and Recreation's minimum requirements for Asset Management Plans require a section on Disposal that details the following:

  • Proposed timing of asset retirement or disposal
  • Estimated residual values at retirement or disposal

Other items that could be included in a Disposal Plan, include:

  • A cashflow forecast of income/expenditure from asset disposals.
