Fire Fighting Flow

The fire fighting flow is the flow rate required for fire fighting purposes established by assessing the building material type, building design and size and referring to the Fire Fighting Regulations.

The flow rate must be provided whilst maintaining a mains residual pressure.

Fire fighting flow rate for residential and commercial premises are often stipulated in state planning guidelines and also the Water Services Association of Australia Codes of Practice.
