Fire Hazard

A Fire Hazard is a condition or substance which has the potential to start or spread a fire.

Section 55 of the Victorian Country Fire Authority Act 1958 notes that it is the responsibility of the Municipal Fire Prevention Committee to:

  • advise the appropriate authorities as to the existence of and steps to be taken for the removal of fire hazards within the area,
  • advise the fire prevention officer concerning the removal of fire hazards under section forty-one under the Act.
