The easiest way to indent text on this site is using asterisks and hashes, but sometimes particularly if you are trying to embed snippets of legislation it is difficult to get the embedded text to look exactly right. You could embed an image, but that is less than ideal.
One possible workaround is to do something similar to what's shown below,
[[image http://www.lgam.info/local--files/icon/white-line.png width="10px"]] (1)
[[image http://www.lgam.info/local--files/icon/white-line.png width="20px"]] (a)
[[image http://www.lgam.info/local--files/icon/white-line.png width="30px"]] (i)
[[image http://www.lgam.info/local--files/icon/white-line.png width="30px"]] (ii)
[[image http://www.lgam.info/local--files/icon/white-line.png width="20px"]] (b)
[[image http://www.lgam.info/local--files/icon/white-line.png width="10px"]] (2)
Which results in the following:
(1)(a)
(i)
(ii)
(b)
(2)
