Local Government Election

A Local Government Election is an election held to decide upon the members (Counciilors) of a Municipal Council.

Victorian Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006

Section 18 (2) a of the Victorian Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006 states that "Every eligible person has the right, and is to have the opportunity, without discrimination — to vote and be elected at periodic State and municipal elections that guarantee the free expression of the will of the electors;"
