Many Councils spend quite a bit of time researching and justifying unit rates when revaluing their assets. An Australia wide Local Government Unit Rates Database could reduce the workload on individual Councils, especially if the state and/or federal governments were to sign off on the rates each year as appropriate rates for valuing assets in the absence of more specific local information.
