Local Structure Plan

A Structure Plan is a plan drawn up by a local planning authority to provide a long term framework to guide development in and around a prescribed area of land. It defines the preferred direction of future growth for that land and articulates how this change will be managed. Some planning authorities use the terminology Local Structure Plan or Precinct Structure Plan to describe their structure plans.
