Minor Road

A minor road is the road that does not have priority at an unsignalised intersection.

The minor roads at a cross road should be signed with either a stop or a give way sign. The linemarking at the intersection also serves to distinguish between the major and minor road. Where the major and minor roads are not aligned at 90 degrees to each other the alignment of the minor road will often be adjusted as it approaches the major road, whereas the alignment of the major road will typically be unchanged through the intersection.
