Municipal Road

A municipal road is a road for which a municipality is responsible.

The Victorian Road Management Act 2004 defines a municipal road as any road which is not a State road, including
any road which –

is a road referred to in section 205 of the Local Government Act 1989; or
is a road declared by VicRoads to be a municipal road under section 14(1)(b):or
is part of a Crown Land reserve under the Victorian Crown Land (Reserves) Act 1978 and has the relevant municipal council as the Committee of Management.
