Open Technology Foundation

The Open Technology Foundation (OTF) was originally an initiative of the Office of the Chief Information Officer in South Australia.

The OTF aims to help governments make better, more cost effective, and more innovative use of open technologies, standards and methods in order to improve service delivery to citizens. The OTF will achieve this by sharing information and resources contributing to the evaluation and, where proven, uptake, of open technologies, standards and methods. The OTF will focus on openness in order to help governments achieve more interoperability, independence, resilience and flexibility in their ICT operations.

It will be officially launched (relaunched?) on 14 September 2011 - the new Carnegie Mellon University website states that the Open Technology Foundation (OTF) is an authoritative peak body for the Australian and New Zealand public sector focused on advancing the uptake of open technologies in Government.
