QSIC Digital Road Network Standards

The QSIC Digital Road Network Standard is designed to provide an optimal method for the capture and maintenance if road network data and to provide broad parameters for the exchange of such data.

The following road classification system is based on functional classes – i.e. to represent ‘how the road is used’.

0. Bi-directional traffic flow
1. Traffic flow in positive direction of the line only
2. One way traffic in opposite direction
3. No traffic flow in either direction

The standard includes the following road hierarchy.

3 Secondary Rpads
4 Local Connector Roads
5 Street/Local - only provides property access
6 Notified Private or Restricted Roads
7 4WD and Tracks
8 Bikeway/Walkway/Malls/Passenger
9 Construction Lines
10 Unconstructed and/or Dedicated
11 Vehicle Ferry
