Quality Assurance Manual
A Quality Assurance Manual is a set of activities or processes/procedures that are designed to ensure that products, goods and/or services satisfy the requirements of customers and business in a systematic and reliable fashion.
A procedure is a particular method for performing a task/activity.

To cater for business requirements Engineering Services directorate of Gold Coast City Council has developed Standard Operating Procedure Manual (SOPM). It provides a single source manual for directorate level policies, procedures and forms.
The primary purpose of this quality manual is:
- To assist staff in accessing and understanding Directorate-wide policies & procedures.
- To provide staff with the necessary tools to ensure compliance with relevant Acts, Regulations, Standards, etc.
- To provide a single source of approved Directorate-wide documentation.
- To detail the conformance of requirements of
- AS/NZS ISO 9001-2000 – Quality Management System—Requirements and
- AS/NZS ISO 14001-2004 – Environmental Management Systems.
- AS/NZS 4801:2001 – Occupational Health and Safety
