Regional Council

The term Regional Council has different meanings in different Australian states and in New Zealand.

In Queensland the larger non-metropolitan Councils are typically designated as regional councils.

In Western Australia regional councils are groups of independent Councils that cooperate on a regional basis.

In New Zealand there are two tiers of Councils, with Regional Councils belonging to the larger less local tier.
