Reserve

The term reserve can have a couple of different meanings in the local government context, either;

  1. Land set aside for a particular purpose
  2. Money set aside for a particular purpose

Land is typically set aside by a state government for a given purpose, under a particular act. In Queensland the relevant act is the Land Act 1994.

Victoria

The Victorian Subdivision Act 1988 defines a reserve as "land set aside as public open space, or for the use of a public authority or the Council".
