Victoria

In Victoria a road can be closed under Section 12 of the Road Management Act.

Sections 43 & 44 of the Victorian Planning and Environment Act 1987 indicate that a road may also be closed by an amendment to a planning scheme. Roads that have been closed via an amendment to a planning scheme are labelled as RXO in the Department of Planning & Community Development's Online Planning Maps.
