Robotics is the branch of technology that deals with the design, construction, operation, structural disposition, manufacture and application of robots.

Robotics hasn't had much of an impact on local government to date, but the last few years has seen dramatic advances in robotics, and it is only a matter of time before it will start finding its way into the local government arena.

Potential Local Government Related Uses.

  • Condition Inspections - CCTV Pipe Inspections arecarried out using cameras mounted on remote controlled devices, it would make sense to automate this process with robotics in the future. Robots could also be used to inspect other difficult to inspect places such as building roofs and ceiling cavities.
