Screen Saver Lockout Policy
Many Councils have a policy in place that requires unattended computer terminals and monitors to be automatically locked after a given period of time, to prevent unauthorised access to or viewing of ID documents and information. Typically, password-protected screensavers are activated when the keyboard or mouse has not been used for a given period of time. The time period varies from Council to Council. Some Councils set the time period as low as 5 minutes and others as long as an hour.
