Service Planning

The Victorian Department of Human Services Capital Development Guidelines state that "The process of Service Planning defines the core services to be delivered to the community, in conjunction with the necessary ancillary or support services, also required within a prescribed timeframe."

The objectives of service planning may include seeking to ensure that the services delivered are:

  • accurately costed
  • financially sustainable
  • efficient and effective
  • provided to the community at an acceptable standard
  • good value for money
