Service Reservoir

A service reservoir is a water storage Reservoir that holds clean water after it has been treated in a water treatment plant, prior to it being transferred into the water reticulation network.

Useful Life

The useful life of a service reservoir will vary considerably depending on how it is constructed and a wide range of environmental factors.

The table below shows the useful life for treatment plants adopted by Councils or published elsewhere. At the moment a useful life of about 50 years seems to be typical. Please help improve the table by adding your Councils information below.
