Strategic Longer Term Plan
The National Asset Management Assessment Framework (NAMAF) suggests that Councils should have a Strategic Longer Term Plan, which it describes as a strategic plan that:
- covers a time span of more than five years;
- incorporates a vision, strategic outcomes, mission, values and service outcomes that Council wants to achieve;
- included community consultation and reflects community needs;
- incorporates priorities and performance measures and indicates how they will be monitored and measured.
Many of these requirements are commonly also a part of a Corporate Plan or a Council Plan, and many Councils either include all these requirements in their Corporate or Council plans or simply deem them to be their Strategic Longer Term Plan for the purpose of satisfying the NAMAF.
