The Sunshine Coast Regional Council is located to the north of Brisbane in Queensland. It covers an area of 3,126 square kilometres and had an estimated resident population in 2006 of 290,026.
The Council covers the urban localities of Caloundra, Coolum Beach, Kawana, Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Noosa Heads, Noosaville, Sunshine Beach, Sunrise Beach and Tewantin and the towns of Buderim, Boreen Point, Cooran, Cooroy, Kin Kin, Eumundi, Maleny, Nambour, Peregian Beach, Beerwah and Pomona.
