Tennis Court

A tennis court is sporting surface on which the game of tennis is played. It is a firm rectangular surface with a low net stretched across the centre.

Many Councils have public tennis courts located with in their facilities and are responsible for their maintenance and eventual replacement.

Surface Useful Life

The useful life of a tennis court surface will depend on a range of environmental & other factors including of course the surface type. A useful life of 10-15 years seems to be typical for synthetic surfaces.

Dimensions

The in-play area of a tennis court (the green area below) is 23.77m x 10.97m, but additional room around the court is required for play. The total area required is 37m x 18m.
