Timber Decking

Timber Decking is a flat surface capable of supporting weight, similar to a timber floor, but typically constructed outdoors, often elevated from the ground, and usually connected to a building.

Useful Life

The useful life of timber decking will vary considerably, depending upon the type of wood it is constructed from and range of environmental factors.

The table below shows the useful life for timber decking adopted by Councils or published elsewhere. A useful life of about 30 years seems to be typical. Please feel free to add your Councils information below.
