Trunk Sewer

A sewer is defined as trunk sewer based on the magnitude of its diameter or function. For large sewer networks, the Water Services Association of Australia, Sewerage Code proposes that a trunk sewer is of DN 750 or greater and connects to a branch sewer. Trunk sewers transport the sewage to water treatment plant.

In smaller sewerage networks, a branch sewer or trunk sewer may be defined by DN 150 to DN 300, and a reticulation sewer by DN 100.
