Victorian Environment Protection Act 1970

The Victorian Environment Protection Act 1970 is design to create a legislative framework for the protection of the environment in Victoria having regard to the principles of environment protection.

Part IXB of the Act which deals with septic tank systems, gives municipal councils a number of responsibilities with respect to septic tanks.
