Victorian Local Government Act Review

The Victorian State Government initiated a review of the Victorian Local Government Act 1989 in 2016.

Legislation to create a new Local Government Act for Victoria was introduced into parliament in 2018, but was allowed to lapse.
A new updated Bill (the Local Government Bill 2019) was in July 2019 in the feedback phase.
