Work Method Statement
A Work Method Statement is a document that states how a potentially dangerous or high risk activity is to be carried out safely.
A Work Method Statement is required for the following types of activities:
- entering trenches more than 1.5 m deep
- working with explosives
- working in confined spaces
- working with a hazardous substances
- working at heights were a person could fall at least 3 m for housing construction work and at least 2 m for any other type of construction work
- working on a roof with pitch greater than 26o
- working in demolition or asbestos removal
- or any activity in which the principal contractor concludes that it could result in death or bodily harm
