Work Method Statement

A Work Method Statement is a document that states how a potentially dangerous or high risk activity is to be carried out safely.

A Work Method Statement is required for the following types of activities:

entering trenches more than 1.5 m deep
working with explosives
working in confined spaces
working with a hazardous substances
working at heights were a person could fall at least 3 m for housing construction work and at least 2 m for any other type of construction work
working on a roof with pitch greater than 26^o
working in demolition or asbestos removal
or any activity in which the principal contractor concludes that it could result in death or bodily harm
