Yass Valley Council is located in the Southern Tablelands region of New South Wales to the north of the Australian Capital Territory on the Hume and Barton Highways and the Main Southern railway line.
Townships within the municipality include; Yass, Binalong, Bookham, Bowning, Gundaroo, Murrumbateman, Sutton, Wee Jasper and Brindabella.
The Council has a population of 9,675, and covers and area of 3999 km²
